Warnings: Violence and anger
Emily was slowly unraveling. Each day she felt as if she was growing angrier and angrier and it had been building for weeks. She didn't know why or what was the root of her anger. She didn't have a clear idea when it had started because it had started coming on so slowly. No one was exempt from the anger although she tried to hide it from Logan and Laura at first. The irritation grew and for no apparent reason she'd gone off at everyone. Lashed out at people she didn't know in the slightest and also people she never would have wanted to hurt. Sometimes Emily had bouts of anger if something or someone pissed her, but the constant anger that wouldn't go away? It had become exhausting.
After her post and the hunting trip with Logan, Emily had crashed. She felt a low come over her and even then the anger was still there but much more subdued. Her skin ran hot and after a couple of hours of sleep she woke up sweating. Whatever was going on with her she had no idea, but it had to be something. Emily felt like she was going insane.
The short nap didn't help matters because when she came out of the bedroom she saw Spencer sitting in the living room with Logan and Laura. For some reason that had pissed her off and she didn't know why. Why did Spencer need to come to her just because she was feeling angry about something? She wasn't in any danger of turning off her stupid humanity. She wasn't going to go to the Halloween party and eat everyone dressed in a idiotic costume. Last year she'd had a blast at the party but this year was different. This year she didn't want to see anyone related to the prison. She didn't want to see her friends. She just wanted everyone to leave her the hell alone.
Getting through the next couple of days proved to be easier said than done because her anger grew and grew. The downs became less frequent and the confusion over why she was angry didn't seem to matter anymore.
Halloween was over and the next day Logan took Emily out on another hunt. They didn't need the game, but she was sure that he took her to keep her occupied and to let out some more energy. The hunts became more and more easy the angrier she got, but it wasn't enough. She was feeding her anger at this point and by the time they got back to the cabin, she kept her anger inside but her mind was seething. While Logan went to clean up the deer they'd caught, Emily paced outside in front of the porch. The more she thought about it, the more she couldn't control it. Her heart didn't beat but if it did it would have been pounding in her chest. Her hands were in clenched fists by her sides and suddenly it was as if something snapped in her mind.
Pure rage swam through her veins and anyone looking at her would see her eyes glowing red. Her vampire features were on full display. She spotted the axe they used to chop up firewood and with a cry of rage she immediately went for it and started swinging at a tree trunk furiously. One chop, two chop. A third and the tree toppled over but thankfully away from the cabin.
Turning back to the cabin with the axe in hand, saw Spencer staring wide-eyed at her from the porch. Emily's own voice sounded foreign to her as she spoke through gritted teeth. "What do you want?"
