Shawn was playing tag with Gus. But their version of tag was more like hide and seek, and it had a lot to do with the fact that Shawn had something of Gus' and he refused to give it back. These were all minor technicalities as far as the mighty Spencer was concerned. He had been running up and down the halls of the prison yelling and diving behind things to hide for at least an hour. Part of his mind told him that Gus most likely called the search off and went back to his office a while ago...but his magic-head buddy could also think that Shawn thought that and be trying to catch him off guard. It was just easier to keep on the move so he didn't get caught.
It didn't seem to occur to him that he was probably bothering everyone in the prison. It wasn't a bad thing though, he was happy not to care again. This was just another sign that he was slowly getting over the idea that he'd lost everything and everyone he cared about. Shawn had expected that Juliet and Lassi and his dad would all come to Everett once they figured out he and Gus were missing...but no such luck. With all the leviathan business and everything he had lost touch of any idea of where they might have been before and he was starting to think they probably didn't survive. His future wife, his dad, his friends. They were all probably just bodies on the floor in the warehouses. Stepped over and forgotten, faceless bodies that no one paid more than a moment's attention to. Then again these days anyone was lucky to have a more personal death than that. Shawn didn't handle death very well, but somewhere in his mind where the child he was didn't go, he was in mourning. He just couldn't let it show. He still had Gus and he needed to be strong for him. Gus was his family now.
So he dove into another hiding place after wailing out a yell and huffed, throwing his arms to the wall to flatten himself against it.
