Who: Agent Melinda May and Agent Natasha Romanoff What: Reunions Where: The prison When: After May's arrival to Everett Warnings: Shouldn't be, will update if necessary.
While Melinda wasn't necessarily the most sociable SHIELD agent of the bunch, there was a small sense of comfort in knowing that she was somewhere where so many agents she knew were located as well. Everett, from what she could gather, was even more out of the ordinary than what she had initially been lead to believe, but it didn't bother her. Not enough to make her reconsider this assignment, and definitely not enough to backtrack to Canada.
Which was still strange to her, this shift she had felt herself make after agreeing to be on Coulson's team. Melinda was supposed to be retired. Retired from field work, anyway; she may have been the Cavalry once upon a time, and she had been a force to be reckoned with, but that time was supposed to be behind her. She had demoted herself, and that was supposed to be that. No fuss, no problems.
Being a SHIELD agent always came with some sort of complications, though, and she should have known that retirement wasn't going to last anyway. Coulson had known it, and had been convincing enough to get her away from the desk job. She could have stayed as just the pilot, but of course that hadn't worked out, either - she needed to get back to the field. She needed to feel useful again, and the virus outbreak had just ended up convincing her that she couldn't have stayed retired forever. Not when she was so used to being a soldier of sorts.
She was done being the Cavalry, though. Melinda was strong and even deadly in her combat techniques, but that nickname was to remain dead and buried. In that sense it made her wish that there weren't so many people that knew her in Everett, considering they knew that aspect of her life but were still not privy as to why she had ended up retiring, and she did not wish to share those details. Not now, not ever, but she would ensure that no one would find out. No one had to know, after all.
Once she was settled in the cabin where she would be staying, and the supplies she had gathered were unloaded, she drove to the prison as she had told Natasha that she would. Her usual SHIELD uniform was only hidden by the black jacket she was wearing and, as she waited for her by the gate, she just took in the sight of the prison. The agent in her made sure to take in the dimensions, the points of entrance, and the security measures that she could see from where she was standing.
