Her dark eyes flicked up to meet James's, she squeezed his hand with hers softly. He was a very attractive man and a soldier. She imagined it wasn't hard for him at all to get women. But James didn't want women, not so far as his palm could tell her. He wanted a very specific woman that he couldn't have. Unrequited love was one of the worst pains a person could feel and Destiny sympathized with him.
She gave him a sympathetic look. Ninety percent of what Destiny actually did was listen. She listened to the needs of others, she felt their pain, she discovered what made them feel alive and helped them get in touch with that side of themselves.
