James had heard movement moments before he heard the sound of flip flops coming towards him from the direction of the cabin. He subtly shifted so he could glanced at who it was and studied the woman and her attire. If he was surprised by her state of dress it didn't show. He stood from petting the cat and adjusted the rifle easily, appearing non-threatening but still ready to raise his gun to bear if he needed it.
"Hello," he greeted in return. When she asked her questions he shook his head. "Not a customer," he returned. "Just patrolling through Everett." He glanced around at the cats before looking back at her. "You tend to all these cats?" It was a bit curious given the danger of running out of food but the cats, and woman, seemed well fed so maybe she rationed what she could. Though who knew in this world. Maybe the woman didn't need food like a human did.
