Who: Aidan Waite and Alana Bloom What: Aidan runs into someone unexpected. When: Today Where: The Infirmary Warnings: none
He had gone to the infirmary looking for Josh—which was really a kind of terrifyingly obvious statement, he had done most things in this place around his best friend. It was co-dependent, a last ditch attempt to hold on to normality. Aidan had never been the kind of vampire who was fully at ease with his own nature and this reality, this new world had done nothing to discourage the dichotomy between his good nature and the killer at his core. It left him with—cognitive dissonance, for lack of a better phrase, and if he held a little tightly to the familiar then he thought it could be forgiven. The problem—the main one, at least—was that the familiar wasn’t holding him back. Proverbially.
He entered the clinic with slightly more gusto than was probably necessary—he had never been particularly campy, but when he was irritated, he could get slightly animated. It would have been fine if Josh had been in the room at all, he could have played it off as friendly excitement, but It wasn’t Josh. In fact, it wasn’t anyone he had met—which figured, really. If he had to embarrass himself in front of anyone, of course it would have to be someone he hadn’t actually met. He froze for a moment before making the decision that it would be best to play things off casually. He laughed—leaning his head to the side slightly as he talked (trying for charming? Maybe—it wasn’t a conscious thing), “Sorry—that probably looked a little neurotic. I was just looking for my friend Josh. I don’t think we’ve met before—My name’s Aidan.”
