Who: Alcide and Ruby What: A tour of the prison When: Yesterday Where: Prison Warnings: shouldn't be any
The past few days Alcide had been doing a good job at keeping himself busy. Extra busy, actually. He was constantly working, finding extra sentry shifts that he could take up and help out with whenever he wasn't teaching his classes, or working on something for the Council, or talking with Molly so that they could work on her birthday plans. After spending what had felt like years being on absolute vigilance due to Dick Roman and the leviathans, it was just normal for him now to constantly be on guard. Not only that, but it also made it easier to not find some way to go after Eric Northman for his damn visit to Sookie. It made it easier to not think about the reason for that visit, too, and it would be a lie if Alcide were to claim that he wasn't avoiding Sookie for that reason.
There was always something to do, though. Someone to help out with, a class to teach, sentry shifts to cover, Council work. It was easier this way.
As he waited for Ruby to meet him in the yard, he made sure that his radio was on him in the event that something came up. The situation with Stefan still had him uneasy, considering he had no way of knowing what to expect there, and he wanted to ensure that he was available in the event that something came up. Stefan had been doing a good job at not coming near the prison, but what if that changed?
For now, though, he would focus primarily on the tour for Ruby. Initially he had been curious about her, considering her resemblance with Laura, but after stumbling upon her comment about her transformations, he had decided to approach her. Which he was glad for, because while Alcide knew now that there were many different packs with different rules and ways that the wolves manifested themselves, in a way it was as if they were all a pack in the prison. Alcide wasn't sure if he would ever consider himself a packmaster, but somehow being on the Council had awakened a sense of leadership in him that he didn't even realize existed. One that wanted to help out the wolves in the prison, whenever necessary.
"Hey," he greeted Ruby as she walked outside to meet him. "Ready for that tour?"
