Aidan would have hated that memory--did, in fact, hate it. One if the times he'd failed Josh, and probably the worst of all. He hadn't thought that Josh or Sally would forgive him for it--for going back to Bishop in order to spare Josh captivity. He didn't forgive himself (still didn't, really). If Josh seemed wary about her having a good sire, Aidan was near hopeless--though not all vampires were bad, and he'd even spoken with a couple that seemed downright decent--the odds of them being the one to sire Emily were outlying at best.
