Concern about one didn’t necessarily mitigate concern about the other. Aidan wouldn’t have told Josh not to be concerned—in fact, there were a number of things wrong with Aidan. He was hungry and still largely disoriented, no matter how often he told himself that things were better now, it was still largely hard to believe that he wouldn’t wake up trapped, that this wasn’t some dream (oddly, the fact that things were occasionally mildly unpleasant was more often than not the surest sign that he wasn’t simply dreaming). He saw straight through Josh’s posturing, and largely didn’t react to the accusations--his voice was far milder than Josh's. “You didn’t work late, you worked all night.”
