It was difficult dealing with a ghost. So much of what Destiny did was rooted around touch. Whether she was doing the touching herself or casting old Romanian earth magic touch was always involved. She wanted to take Fred's hands in her own, to help her feel something other than that hollow inside of her. She was confident in her abilities but... Fred was a ghost. There would be no sweet seduction. At least not here and now.
"Think of it more like a doorway. It feels empty because it's just a doorway, there's no door. You have to fill it up with something. Right now there's nothing there but gravity but that gravity had pull. You are the white noise. The static. Other souls, dead souls will naturally gravitate towards you. You can help them or you can ignore them but if you help them it might ease some of that emptiness you feel inside."
Destiny reached out to touch Fred's chest, right above her heart but of course her hand just went through. Even so, she felt a bit of electricity pass between the two girls.
"I was six years old the first time I saw a ghost. It was the spirit of my dead great grandmother. I was so afraid, I raced to my grandfather Nicolae in the dark to tell him why I was afraid. He told me it was the sight. He told me to never fear the dead because they were only searching for a guiding light."
She smiled slightly. "That story sounds better in Romanian."
