Aidan had been around long enough that the unconditional good feelings of his arrival were offset and that opened Josh's mind up to a flurry of other thoughts. He knew that Aidan had only worked at the hospital before to get him near the blood bags he needed to survive, but Josh had hoped in some way that working in the hospital had made him feel....more human. Now of course they didn't need to pretend like they were human anymore for the sake of anyone else but that didn't mean they should just give in to their urges and start eating people. It was never about blending in and keeping their secret as much as it was about being able to sleep at night with a clean conscience.
He wasn't even thinking about what he was doing anymore, mindlessly reaching for the overflowing bag of biohazard materials to empty it out and missing. His finger hit a needle and he recoiled it with a hiss, examining the tiny bead of blood that came to the surface. At once point in his life he would have panicked and rushed to the nearest disinfecting center but now...he just sighed and shook it to try and dispel some of the pain. He'd wash his hand off in the sink just because there was no telling what that needle was used for and it was probably disgusting...but he wasn't worried about catching anything. The wolf in him wouldn't allow something like that.
Still, the slip up reminded him that he was at work and that he should probably pay some attention to what he was doing. Luckily it was mostly clean up and paperwork today. They hadn't had nearly as many patients after the big leviathan showdown as he thought they would. He wasn't complaining, it was a blessing and not in disguise either.
