Taking the bracelet, Claudia smiled. "Thank you. It's even prettier now that I know the magic behind it."
She listened as Lissa explained about her friends not liking her to use her magic too much. "It sounds like a heck of a balancing act between doing what you can and doing more than you should. That's got to be hard. Especially now when there's just so much always going on." And boy howdy did she have an idea what that was like. "The Warehouse where I work - it's filled with things. The kinds of things I was telling you about. And I look around at what's been happening here and I can't help but think some of the artifacts that we have locked up could do so much good out here in the world. We could use them to protect ourselves or help people or just make life better."
She leaned her back against the tree, her fingers still tracing the elegant lines of the bracelet. "But a lot of them have a downside too. There's this butcher's knife Steve - he's my partner - and I were sent to get from auction once. It belonged to Mary Mallon the woman known as "Typhoid Mary" anyway, this knife could take away any disease. It could cure whoever held it. The downside being that to take the disease from one person you had to give it to another. It all seems to come down to give and take."
"I can see why your friends would worry about you giving too much but I think if I were in your shoes I'd want to do the same."
