For someone that was usually not much of a team player, Logan was eager to begin this fight against the damn monsters that were trying to overtake Everett. He wasn't impressed by them, and he was just so fucking tired of the little bastards running around claiming they were there for the long haul. Logan was nowhere close to claiming the prison as his to protect, but Emily and Rogue did live there and that was enough for his protective instincts to kick in. As they waited for the leeches to storm out, Logan waited impatiently with his claws drawn out and ready to destroy anything that got in their way. There was only one outcome possible, as far as he was concerned, and that did not include the leviathans winning. He had not survived this damn long to become a menu option for them.
Turning to Rogue, he caught her smile and the eternally pissed off look on his face diminished slightly as he gave her a smirk of his own. Part of him wasn't too thrilled with the fact that the kid was this involved in the fight, but he had to remind himself that she wasn't the little kid he had met so long ago anymore. He would sure as hell protect her, though, that would never change, and as soon as the leviathan ran out, Logan was quick to leap into action without a second thought.
No, those little pricks wouldn't win. This fight, this town, was theirs.
Out of the corner of his eye he kept an eye on Rogue as she set to work. Claws were cutting deep gashes throughout the monster's body, and as Thor moved to inject the zombie virus into the damn thing, Logan noticed it was about to lash out with what seemed to be claws of its own. In a fluid motion he kicked the leviathan on its side to distract it before positioning himself behind it, digging his claws deep into the arms of the creature so that it wouldn't fight against the injection. Logan didn't see it happen, but he felt it as the skin began to peel off, and the strength of the fucking thing seemed to triple as it fought against him, sending him flying back. Instinct kicked in as he flew through the air, though, and with animal like reflexes he landed on his feet, his temper rising and making him see red.
Yeah, the virus made the things look bigger and it made them stronger, but Logan wasn't afraid. He was pissed off. Turning to his team, he gave a nod, as if motioning for them to begin the full fledged attack, already moving towards the threat they had to eliminate at full speed.
