Christian hadn't been allowed to go and rescue Jill. It had pissed him off even if he understood why Dimitri had issued the order to stand down. This time he wasn't going to stand down. Luckily his Guardian hadn't put up much of a fight. Christian had agreed to the stipulation that he be where Christian was, so that was that.
Which left them standing in the center of it all, offering back up to Malachi as he got his witch on. Moroi had elemental magic, but it was nothing like what Malachi was unleashing. The other man's hair was blowing back as he channeled his energy into slowing down and hurting Leviathans while offering protection to those going in to rescue the remaining hostages.
Christian torched any Leviathan that got too close to them. Dimitri handled the sword work, and together they provided a damn good circle of protection to Malachi. It was when one of them seemed to notice that Malachi was the source of the magic that things got more intense and personal. It charged and he and Dimitri went to work backing it up. He set it on fire as his guardian ordered him to do so. The force of the sword impact severed it's head which Christian blew up with his fire before Dimitri kicked it away from the body so it couldn't immediately rejoin it's self.
Another seemed to notice Malachi and then another. The two came from opposite sides as Malachi tossed hexes at one while Dimitri focused on the other. Torn between where he should send the fire, he chose Malachi since his Guardian was capable of defending himself and wasn't otherwise distracted by another task.
