Who: Jill with some familiar faces :x (narrative) What: Kidnapped When: Now! Where: that is the question is it not? Warnings: Extreme dickishness.
There had been screaming. Her thoughts were so cloudy, the pain overwhelming and distracting, but she remembered there had been screaming. Every time the vampire in the other cot screamed, she remembered the screams from before. The screams from others, but also the screams from herself. She'd screamed so hard when Vera was killed in front of her. She'd screamed when Adrian and Thor were being beaten in front of her. She'd screamed when death came for her, but that got lost in the crowd. Only Adrian had seen, had heard, and it was Adrian's screams that she heard in her mind now.
"Did you cry for me?"
The familiar voice made her clenched her small hands as tears fell from her jade green eyes. It wasn't her. This wasn't Vera. It hadn't been her when she was taken, but she had wanted it to be her. She'd have given anything if Vera had been a miracle. Adrian had screamed at her not to believe it, but Jill's heart screamed louder. Come back to me. Don't leave me. I have so much to say.
Except there were no words now. Just tears.
The syringe in her hand made Jill shake. She'd already bore witness to what a syringe was doing to the vamp on the other cot, and she had no doubt that would be her fate next. She hurt. Why did she hurt?
Oh, he wanted to remind her it wasn't nice to attack him. He'd not appreciated the ghosts even if they hadn't hurt him. So he'd made her feel his dissatisfaction. Had he made her scream? She'd been stubborn. The bruises were proof of that, but she couldn't remember if she had screamed.
There had been screams though. Adrian's screams. Thor's screams. Sometimes she could have swore she heard her sister screaming. Vera's screams, Julia's, and her own. Had she screamed for him?
The tip of the syringe caught the light and she knew it didn't matter. If she hadn't before, she was going to now. "Show your true face."
Don't use her. Don't you dare use her.
Vera shrunk away into the darkness, and Jill was relieved. Of course he'd still inject her, but he seemed to agree not to use Vera to do it. Another appeared, a face she didn't recognize. But with it was someone she hadn't expected to see. She thrashed on the bed furiously, trying her best to break free.
He was all beat up. He'd been hurt so bad.
"You or him?" The one with the needle asked.
Adrian pleaded with her. Him. Make it him.
The vampire on the cot screamed.
"ME. ME. NOT HIM. DON'T YOU TOUCH HIM. MAKE IT ME."
The needle pierced her skin and the pain seemed to hit her immediately. Was it in her mind? The terror of knowing that what was being done to the other vamp was now being done to her? Or was it working that fast?
Time passed so slowly. She'd catch glimpses of people sometimes. Ghosts. Her father was there. Watching silently and protectively. Helplessly. He couldn't stop this. Tatiana even showed up. A fierceness to her features that reminded Jill of when she had been queen. Even Lee was there. Psychotic Lee who had loved her so. Was he thinking that she would have been spared this if he had simply been able to make her his immortal strigoi queen?
Vera would return here and there as the effects of the virus began to set in. The fever. The aches. The pain. The fear.
Vera was there and she watched as Jill cried. Some for herself, but more for Vera. For knowing that not only had her friend been murdered, she was still being used to hurt others. She wasn't able to rest.
"How are you?" Adrian had asked as he smoothed back her hair with his hand. His hand felt so cold. She was so hot. The sweat was pouring off her.
"I love you. It was always you."
He looked down at her with such loving eyes before whispering, "It was always her. Not you."
Her? Rose? Sydney?
She opened her mouth to ask, but the vampire was shrieking. His body was shaking uncontrollably and there was blood. He was choking on his blood and then he was dead.
This would be her end. This was how she was going to die.
"I want to sleep," she pleaded, but Adrian was gone. She was alone again. Alone with a dead body that she would soon join in death. The tears fell harder.
She wasn't sure what was being used to keep her from sleep, but she was so tired. As time wore on, the fear grew more encompassing. She was going to die.
Again.
Adrian said it was never her? How was that possible?
Vera wasn't real, but she wished she was.
In an instant, it felt like her body was being dragged down into a dark abyss. Was this death? Was it over?
"JILLY BEAN?!"
She blinked as she looked at her surroundings. It was their tree. Adrian wore a few bruises, but he mostly had healed. Had the Adrian before been an illusion or was she hallucinating now?
She felt so exposed. Especially when she caught him taking in every injury and looking more furious with each one. "It was always you. I love you so much."
"I love you too. Tell me where you are. We'll find you."
"You'll stay with me? I think it's close to the time."
He looked frantic as he approached her. His hands clasping hers tightly. "Time for what?"
"I won't be scared if you stay with me."
"Show me, Jill. Show me what you've been seeing."
She didn't want to, but he was so insistent. So panicked. She let her mind drift and she showed him. Their bond allowed her to show him and he looked frustrated and still so scared. "Where? Where is this place?"
"Stay with me, Adrian. I don't want to die alone."
"You're not going to die! We're going to find you."
Jill wanted to say goodbye, but she was pulled out of the sleep so suddenly. He was still there. Watching her, but his eyes looked wrong. Angry somehow. "Stay with me. I don't want to die alone."
