Who: Derek and Abigail What: Meeting, smoking, etc When: Tonight Where: The roof Warnings: None
Derek couldn't sleep. Which wasn't rare, considering sometimes he could barely even nap throughout the night, but he was too restless to be in his cell or even in a sentry tower. Lydia was busy, his sister was too, and that left Derek to wander throughout the prison as he tried to figure out what the hell to do. He didn't want to be in the rec room. He couldn't be just out in the yard doing nothing. He had spent more time in the gym lately than anything else, and he was growing tired of even that, so he opted for the roof instead. Ideally he would have jumped that damn fence and would have just gone running, or something, but he knew he couldn't do it. It pissed him off, far more than he ever thought it would to be trapped in the prison, but he was doing what he could to keep his pack safe. If staying inside with them would do it, then...he'd do what he had to do.
The smell of smoke hit his nose long before he even reached the stairs to go up, but even if he hesitated on whether or not to go up, it didn't stop him. Neither did the fact that he wasn't familiar with the scent he got a whiff of once he reached his destination, but that was to be expected. Derek may have been living in the prison for a few months now, but he never really talked to the people that he was not accustomed to. Faith and Adrian had become exceptions to that rule, only because of the past few times he had tried living in the prison and he had actually managed to get along with them, but it wasn't like Derek was willingly going around friending people. That just wasn't his way of doing things.
Even now, as he reached the roof, he didn't make an effort to approach the girl that was busy smoking. If she knew he was there or not, he didn't really look for any signs. If she wanted to be alone, he'd leave her alone. It wasn't like he minded it, anyway, and the roof was big enough that they didn't have to bump into each other if they didn't want to.
So, he moved to sit on a ledge, just staring out to the dark forest and finding some semblance of patience for whatever the hell was coming.
