Who: Isabel, Mercy & NCP Max
When: After this.
Where: Prison; the infirmary
What: Max needs to heal Mercy's shoulder
Warnings: None
Isabel just didn't like to hear someone complaining that they were in pain. There didn't seem to be much point in it when there were people around like Max and Lissa and Adrian and Liz to do something about it. It wasn't like vampire blood. There weren't consequences. Okay, well maybe there were some consequences to Max doing it but look at Liz. It didn't look like she minded having telepathy and the ability to heal other people. So there was a small chance that in a couple years Mercy might develop some alien powers. Was that really so bad? And they didn't even know that for sure. Just because Liz had done it didn't mean everyone would. She was different anyway. She had been practically dead when Isabel's brother brought her back that fateful morning at The Crashdown.
Speaking of Max and Liz, they were as annoyingly nausea inducing as usual. Isabel loved them both but sometimes watching the two of them was enough to drive a girl crazy. Maybe it drove Isabel crazy with jealousy because she couldn't have something like that but did it matter? It didn't matter how you looked at it, it was annoying. Liz and Max with their stolen glances and whispered secrets and goofy grins. Isabel wanted to gag.
"Hey, little brother." She smiled as she found Max in the infirmary as usual. If he wasn't with Liz he was at the infirmary. Which meant when Liz was in the kitchen, and Isabel knew very well she was since she had just seen her during her last meal, Max was down here in the infirmary. He glanced up his sister and gave her a smile. "Hey," he returned.
"There's a woman. She's part coyote I think. I'm not really sure. Anyway, something happened to her shoulder and I told her you would take a look at it," Isabel explained.
Max nodded his head, giving his sister a somber look. "I'm sure I can help her. Where is she?" He looked instantly more alert at this news and Isabel smiled a little to herself. He was always going to be this way, she thought. He'll always be the King of Antar. Even though we're not there, even though we've given up on that planet. It will always exist for him, she thought ruefully. Antar just didn't exist for Isabel the way it had for Max.
Recently the two of them had been arguing because Max didn't want Isabel going on raids. She knew that she could take care of herself and so did Max but he was always pulling crap like that, telling her what to do. Isabel wanted to raid. It made her feel useful and she liked getting out of the prison. She didn't have the same healing ability that he did and even if she did she wouldn't want to hang out in the infirmary all day.
Isabel hoped Mercy would show up soon because she didn't want to give Max a long enough opening for another lecture.
