Liz was pleasantly surprised when Serena broke into a fit of laughter at the idea that aliens existed. It was so different from how Maria and Alex reacted, or even how she reacted herself. She was completely in shock when Max told her what he was and it took a little while for it to sink. Maria, she screamed, ran away, and practically hyperventilated the next time she saw her. Alex, he was in denial and wanted evidence that she was telling the truth. The fact that Serena was taking it so lightly was really refreshing and a big relief to Liz because she had been worried about how it would be taken.
When she saw the blonde woman gasp for air between laughter, she grabbed a cup of water she had sitting by and handed it to her so that she could pause and catch her breathe. She couldn't have the passing out from laughing too hard - if such a thing was possible. She was sure it was. Anything was possible in this crazy world. "There wasn't a reaction I was expecting. When I told my best friend, she ran out screaming" She told her with another laugh before she completely calmed down. Maria had always been quite drama queen. Oh how she missed her.
"Honestly? It's just like being married to a human. We, Max specially, never used our powers unless we had to. We didn't want to draw attention to ourselves, you know? All of us tried to live as normal as possible" She said we without a second though because he wasn't the only one with powers. She had developed hers about a month before they went on from the FBI. While she was more intune with them now and had come to terms with having them, she didn't use them often. She liked to retain her normalcy as much as she could.
