Liz was immediately interested in what Serena had to say when she was from Manhattan. She had always been fascinated with the east coast ever since her dad hung a poster of Cambridge above her bed when she was five, specifically that very location and New York City.
It had always been her goal to go Harvard and get degree in Molecular Biology and she almost made it too. Almost. She would have nailed her interview if changes hadn't been going on inside her at the time. She had started developing her powers and at the interview, everything began spinning out of control and she completely lost her focus. She was unable to get another interview after that and instead applied to Northwestern. She ended up getting in but as luck would have it, they went on the run shortly after and she was never able to attend college.
Now with what was happening in the world, she would probably never get to go. She could dream, though, and dream she did.
As far as New York City went, well how could she not be fascinated with that city? It was the Big Apple! While she was fascinated with it, she had never been there. Not physically anyway. Spiritually, on the other hand, was a different story. Thanks to Ava, she was able to connect to Max and appear to him in New York City and prevent him from dying. That was as close as she would probably ever get to the city.
"I haven't it but that sounds like an interesting place to work" She commented when Serena told her of where she worked. Gossip had never been her thing but she supposed she could understand the appeal of it and why Serena would want to work at a place like that. It probably helped that her friend owned it. "I might have but I don't really know names of those around the prison yet" She explained before Serena asked her about where shew as from. She couldn't help but let out a laugh when she said she was sure it was way more interesting than New York.
"Hardly! That is unless you count a tourist trap based on a supposed UFO crash that happened in 1947 interesting. Of course everyone in Roswell believes that's real" Because it was but she wasn't going to say that unless Serena questioned whether it was real or fake. "Living there wasn't as fun as it sounds. It's a small town to everyone knows your business. My family has four generations there and I grew up under the eyes of everyone it seemed. My parents owned a diner called the Crashdown and I spent most of my time there. Life was pretty normal and uninteresting until I got to know Max" She told her, remembering how they met fondly. She had been in the same class with him since first grade but she didn't really know him until he literally saved her life. Better late than never, she always said.
