"I know nothing," Serena said, holding up her hands in mock surrender. Even though Serena had never kept a journal herself, her best friend Blair back in New York had. And Serena knew how safely Blair guarded those diaries, locking them in a giant foot locker that she kept under her bed. If Liz was anything like Blair she wouldn't want anyone reading her private thoughts. Privacy was a luxury that Serena never had and she didn't expect it now. Which was probably one of the many reasons why she had never kept a journal or a diary.
She smiled again when Liz asked her how her day was. It was so rare for anyone who wasn't a close friend to ask her something like that. Serena knew for a lot of people the kitchen staff was just there to plop mashed potatoes down on their plates. But Liz seemed really down to earth which was why Serena had naturally gravitated to her. Serena wasn't particular down to earth which was why she could appreciate someone who was.
"It's been alright. Pretty much the usual. Work, read, hang out." She sat down on Sidney's bunk across from Liz's, glad that the older woman wasn't in her cell at the moment so that Serena could talk to Liz alone. Serena loved Sidney but it would be an understatement to say that she had a screw loose. Serena supposed if she had been targeted by the same killer four times she would be a little on the unstable side too though so she tried to stay patient with her.
"Speaking of if you ever need something to read? I have a whole year back issues of Glamour and Cosmo. Stiles has my Cosmos right now but he's probably already finished them by now. I mean... if you wanted to read them. I don't know what kind of stuff you like to read." She hadn't expected Stiles to want to read her Cosmos but he had surprised her. Apparently in desperate times people would read anything.
