"It's October 2nd and I'm Liz Evans. Hello old friend, you've been missed. I haven't written in a while and with good reason. Between running from the FBI and the zombie attacks beginning last year of my life has been a in whirlwind. I'm still trying to get a grasp on all of it. I've found my way to somewhere safe but I don't feel at ease here yet. I'm not sure I ever will. I'm alone and I don't know who I can trust. I can just hear Michael's response to this situation; "Trust no one." They're good words to live by - especially now.
I have to keep my guard up, be careful what I share, keep my special abilities to myself. I can't take any chances. Better safe than sorry. I would feel a lot safer if Max was with me. It's been three months since I last saw him and they've been the longest three months of my life. I try to channel him every day and it really scares me that I can't get through to him. He's alive out there somewhere, I can feel it, and that gives me hope that I'll get through and we'll be reunited one day. It'll happen one day. I know it will. It has to.
Closing the notebook she had found while exploring the Prison, Liz put it on her pillow and sat back against the wall by her bed with a sigh. She never imagined that she would be writing in a journal again after sending the last one to her father to be read and destroyed but she was glad to started another one. As she couldn't share her thoughts and feeling on certain things with just anyone, the journal would be a good outlet for her.
Bringing her legs up to her chest, she rested her chin on her knees and closed her eyes, blocking everything around her out. She needed a clear mind and no distractions as she concentrated on connecting with Max. The bond they shared had once been strong enough that and could tap into his head space. She felt really good this time that she would make headway and get through to him. Just as she got in the zone, a door opening near by brought her out of it and made her jump. Opening her eyes, she looked around and saw someone standing by the door way of her room staring at her.
"I ... ahem ... can I help you with something?" She wondered, lifting her head ad she came out of the state she had been in when she was trying to connect with Max. It usually took her a few moments to compose herself and get back into the real world.
