Who: Tony, Jill, and later Connor What: Love is in the air! When: Friday Where: Naval base Warnings: UM probably, but not for the reasons you may think?? The Dragomir princess can throw better tantrums than Tony Stark. And that's saying something.
It had to be perfect. That was the thought that kept running through Tony's head: everything had to be perfect for when Connor arrived. He had spent most of the night working on his gift for Connor - a gun that had the repulsor technology built in at a much smaller scale than the suit, but it was still a powerful weapon that was capable of either knocking things over or burning them right through like a laser depending on the strength of the shot. In his mind it was still nothing compared to what he generally would have wanted to give someone as special as Connor, but it was an advanced weapon that would help him. Connor was so damn brave, so strong, but he did too much for the prison and he needed to keep himself protected. The new gun, he hoped, would help with that.
Well, the new gun he would give him today, as well as the shotgun he had dropped off the previous night with a note that just said Come by the base tomorrow, I have something for you. -T. If things were normal and Tony had access to his fortune, Connor would have right now an island in Fiji for himself, as well as a few new cars just to show his love for him, but for now his weapons would have to do. The new gun he would be giving him was one of his most prized inventions - it was only the second of its kind - and he couldn't wait for him to see it. To have it. Because, while Tony Stark wasn't really a man used to saying 'I love you,' he demonstrated it in other ways. Connor would understand, right?
Of course he would. He was Connor. They had interacted a few times while discussing weapons for the prison, and Tony knew that he was smart. Very young, yes, but extremely smart and a big asset to the prison. Tony had never been the type to focus on genders, or defined sexual orientations; for him as long as someone was attractive, both mentally and physically, then that was enough to draw him in, and Connor had done just that. Damn him. Tony didn't have time for love, or relationships, but with Connor he wanted to try. He wanted to love him, and give him everything he wanted. If he wanted an arsenal, the base, Everett itself, he would have it.
"Sir," Jarvis alerted him as Tony finished putting the final touches to the gun. "You have a visitor at the gates."
"Great! Go for it, open 'em up."
Raking his fingers through his hair, Tony adjusted his shirt and rolled up the sleeves of his undershirt as he walked outside. There was a small stretch of road that extended between the gates and the building that he used as his primary lab, and Tony was quick to head in that direction so he could meet him half way in. Maybe he would want a tour of the base, he figured. He could show him the security system he had installed, the new servers, the labs he had going. The intelicrops. There was so much to show him, and maybe... Maybe he would want to move in with him one day. The base was more comfortable than the prison, and not crowded. He would want to live there with him. They would be together. This was what Tony had been waiting for, for so many years, and god he was just so damn happy. It was a feeling he hadn't felt in so long, but it was finally here.
Connor was finally here.
Except...he wasn't. As he walked down the small road up to the gate, the person walking towards him wasn't Connor. It was a young girl that he very vaguely remembered. Then he remembered Adrian's words, and Tony's walk slowed slightly. Well, crap. While Tony didn't mind sleeping with people much younger than him, he still drew the line when his partners got too young. Jill definitely fell in that category, no matter how beautiful she was.
"Uh, hi?" Clearing his throat, Tony continued walking towards her, but at a slower pace and kept a safe distance between each other. "You, uh. I didn't think I'd be getting visitors tonight."
Lies. Such a lie. He may not be dressed up to the nines, but he had cleaned up much more than he had been lately. Hell, he had even trimmed his goatee and shaved properly. His hair was slicked back the way only the genius billionaire playboy philanthropist knew how, in a way that made him feel like the previous version of himself that went to parties and dates. The jailbait in front of him didn't have to know that, though.
"The Dragomir princess, right?" Because he remembered Adrian's words. Because, fuck, he should have asked Jarvis who it was at the door rather than instructing him to open the gates. For such a genius, Tony still had his moments of stupidity. This was most definitely one of them.
