There had been a shift in the air sometime that afternoon. Lissa was sitting in her bunk reading a magazine that she had already looked through dozens of times when something flickered in her magic and she felt unsteady. A chaotic sensation ran through her senses and after a brief moment it passed. She still didn't quite feel like herself, but her skin wasn't buzzing with magical activity. Ten minutes later, the feeling was entirely forgotten and she had started back looking through the raggedy pages of the magazine when Adrian appeared in her doorway of her and Natasha's cell.
"Did you feel that?" He questioned her, the look on his face was worried when she saw him.
"Feel what?" A quietness had taken her over and wrapped her up like a warm blanket after the chaos passed and it prevented her from feeling anything differently.
"Something happened... I don't know. It was just.. Are you sure you didn't feel anything?" Adrian studied her aura carefully, but he only saw that peacefulness and to be honest it kind of wigged him out a little because her normal colors were masked by something else.
Lissa sat up and tossed the magazine to the side. She had no clue what Adrian was going on about, but that didn't necessarily mean either of them were acting strangely. There were many times that many people didn't know what Adrian was talking about at any point in time. Except for maybe Jill. Jill seemed to understand him well just as Christian seemed to understand Lissa in most ways. Jill loved Adrian and Christian loved Lissa. Lissa loved...
"I have to go," she said suddenly and brushed past him. There was someone she needed to find and even though she didn't know where to find them, she was positive fate would lead her to him. Before Adrian could stop her, she had left the cell and was walking to the gate. The sentry on duty was insisting she find a buddy but she didn't want a buddy. She had somewhere she needed to be and she was going to go there immediately. The spirit had stirred in her and it barely took any extra effort from her at all.
Locking eyes with Kono, Lissa smiled sweetly at her. "I'm going to leave now and you are going to let me. You will not tell anyone I have left, where I'm going, or that you saw me today. Do not repeat this to anyone. When you see Dimitri, Christian, or Rose you will ignore them or say you have not seen me." The familiar glazed look passed over Kono's face and once satisfied that the compulsion had stuck, she turned on her heel and left the prison.
She kept to the woods while the sun was still out but its rays still filtered through the branches. Exhaustion was beginning to creep up on her and she knew they were due for a feeding at Thor's the next day, so her energy was depleting quickly. Thankfully, the sun set and the glow of the moon and cool night air refreshed her but she was still growing tired.
Where was he? The pretty vampire boy that had often run his mouth over the network and reminded her of someone else she had left behind at the prison. Lissa's best friend was Rose and her boyfriend was Christian. She liked the mouthy ones and Kol was no different, but he was so much more. He may not have been the original of her kind, but he was of another and clearly meant she belonged with him. The Original vampire and the Moroi Queen. How had she not seen it before now?
Unsure of how long she had been out wandering around the wilderness, Lissa wondered if she would ever find him but that didn't stop her determination. She wasn't the tracker like Dimitri or Rose but she had a will of iron and she would not stop for anything. The more tired she felt, the stronger her spirit kicked in. Nearly tripping over a log, she caught herself on a tree trunk and stayed there to catch her breath. Listening to the sounds of the woods she heard footsteps. With her keen eyesight, she saw him. He was only a figure in the dark off in the distance, but it was him. She was sure of it.
He was walking in her direction and she stayed there and leaned against her tree. Fate had led her to this point and her determination had paid off. Wiping the sweat from her brow, she smiled as he approached.
"Hello. I've been looking for you."
