"Yeah, probably." Zoey smiled. "I'm actually probably going to be seeing a lot more of the prison. So get used to this face." Zoey had no idea of the feelings Alcide was harboring for her. She was just making pleasant conversation just like she always did with Alcide and any of Ellis's other friends. She just didn't want to outright tell Alcide she was moving into the prison until she had told Ellis. She wanted him to know about it first.
She checked her watch and tapped her feet idly on the cold floor. It had been a few minutes and she had no idea when Ellis would be back. Nice as it was for Alcide to offer her a place to wait she wasn't used to sitting around. She wondered if it would be this way when she actually moved in. Zoey wasn't the kind of girl who could sit still for long. She was always moving, always working on something. Her and Ellis were alike that way.
"I should go down to the garage and catch up with him. You know how he gets when he starts on a project. He'll be down there all night." She stood up and gave Alcide a half wave. "I'll see you later." She was a little startled when he stood up too and his massive muscles were right in front of her. He seriously needed to put a shirt on. Damn!
She gave an awkward snicker because at heart Zoey was still just a twenty year old girl trying to find her place in the world. "Dude, you need to put on a shirt. You're ridiculous. Like photoshopped ridiculous."
