"Yes, I am." Nora sat next to Allison on the sofa. She could smell the prison on her and the thought her little guest could possibly know Sookie made her want to be even closer. "Does that bother you?" She crossed one leg over the other and settled back. Obviously the girl didn't have trouble with vampires if she was wandering in the woods alone. And didn't the prison have a buddy system? Imagining Sookie running about the woods at all hours of the night brought a fleeting frown to Nora's face. Anything could happen to her. Someone like Klaus could find Sookie and devour her before she had a chance to scream.
"You live at the prison don't you? Should you be out so late? Alone?" Nora asked. The poor girl obviously didn't have anyone to take care of her, look out for her, love her the way Nora loved Sookie. Nora would never let Sookie out in the night alone. If Nora had her way Sookie would never be alone again. Absently she reached over and brushed a bit of Allison's hair with her fingertips. Poor, poor girl. Maybe if she was lucky someone would come along and be as wonderful for her as Sookie was for Nora.
