Who: Daryl and Selene
What: Hanging out
When: backdated to the night of June 7th
Where: Selene's cabin
Warnings: none so far
The hunt with Vera and Julia had gone smoothly, just like he hoped. Everyone was alive, Vera was safely back at the prison, and Julia was off hanging out with her friend. It actually went a little bit better than expected, they even managed to get some small game. It would be enough to make the people at the prison a little happier and maybe they'd overlook the amount of times he traipsed about in the woods. As long as he kept up with his raids they really shouldn't have any reason to complain, but he had a nervous relationship with established places like the prison. Really it wasn't the kind of place he ever thought he'd settle in to. He didn't want to sleep in his bed because it felt too much like a cage, so he slept around the halls in short bursts. When he had stayed at Selene's cabin he was probably the most comfortable he'd been in ages...but he couldn't come back. Staying with her had been just another version of running and hiding. He had his reasons for being at the prison even if he didn't fit in completely.
Daryl breathed a sigh of relief, walking up to Selene's door and letting himself in if it were unlocked. He entered slowly and deliberately, but since he was expected it was more likely that she wouldn't worry about someone coming in. "Not a damn things changed in here, huh" he stated, either to the room in general or to Selene herself if she were in sight. He pulled his crossbow down from around his shoulder and laid it gently leaning against the wall near the door. He didn't need his weapons ready here, because he actually trusted her. That was something he never thought he'd think. It took forever for him to warm up to Rick and the others while traveling with them, Merle would have said he was going real soft...but he was beyond his brother's scrutiny now. Merle was dead and gone and more than ever Daryl realized what a horrible influence he'd been, that there was more to life that hurting people and dicking them over to rob them blind. That he could actually be liked by people. It came as a shock to him and even still he doubted the sincerity of the others...but he was getting there.
