Who: Daryl, Vera, Julia What: hunting/training with bows When: earlier this morning Where: woods Warnings: none
It didn't take too much to convince Julia to let him take Vera out for training. Sure she was going to come with them, but maybe it was time to talk to her. He'd been avoiding almost everyone for so long now that he was starting to forget how to act around the people he had been close to before. A survival trip in the woods was bound to do that to a person, even more-so when they wanted it to and he definitely wanted it to. The more he had to fight for his life and hunt for himself, the more he was able to distance himself from unpleasant emotions.
He was geared up, he had his crossbow over his shoulder, a knife, and a gun tucked on his person. No matter what happened he wouldn't let a single thing out in those woods touch these girls. He would never lose a kid in the woods again. Daryl spent most of the morning getting his head in the right place to go out, he was silent and he paced around the hallways of the prison as he thought over his plan. The mission was to get them out there, shoot some arrows, and bring back some food if possible. It was an easy in and out agenda as long as a herd or something equally dangerous didn't roll through. Although the risks of stepping out the prison gates didn't seem to bother him as much as they were just another part of his day. What other choice did he have than to rise up and dominate the circumstances around him? He was the man his brother encouraged him to be, with his own family-induced additions.
Once he was ready he hopped down the stairs and made his way out to the front prison gate. When he realized the women weren't there yet he moved to lean against the fence with his shoulder. The weather was nice, the sun was rising high in the sky, and they were going to have a good hunt today...he could feel it. He allowed himself a moment to look up at the sky while he waited, but he found his thoughts occupied simply with the birds that flew by and how to shoot them down. Oh well. Let someone else appreciate the beauty of nature, he'd appreciate what it felt like in his stomach.
