Who: Jondy and Open What: retrieving Max's letter from the prison and then having a fit When: tonight Where: outskirts of the prison, the woods Warnings: Violence
Alec was a dumbass. Okay. He was a dumbass that Jondy could tolerate. If she were really pressed she would admit that she even liked him now. They had found some common ground when he had come to her aid when the Salvatore losers had tried to sneak up on her. (How stupid did you have to be to try and sneak up on a transgenic anyway?). He had come to her with his concerns about Rebekah using compulsion on him, brainwashing him, whatever you wanted to call it. Jondy understood where he was coming from. She had confronted Kol about it before, had demanded to know if he had done it to her. It was difficult knowing that the person you shared your bed with had the power to take away your mind anytime they wanted to.
She had a surprisingly easy time at the prison. Faith had come to meet her at the gates and had given her the letter for Alec. The two women barely spoke, just tersely but politely exchanging brief amounts of information before Jondy walked away with the letter in her hand. She could tell that Faith was relieved that Jondy had come for the letter instead of Alec.
Jondy was pissed off as she stomped through the woods with Tinga chasing at her heels. Pissed off because there was only one letter. Only one and it had Alec's name on it. What the hell was that? Jondy and Max were sisters. They were from the same unit. Max and Alec hadn't even met until just a couple of years ago. Where was Jondy's letter? So what if she and Max had gone years without speaking to each other. They were forced to do that. Nobody talked to anyone except for Zack. Big brother just couldn't let go enough to not keep an eye on all of them.
Screw it. Alec didn't deserve the note. He told Faith to burn it. So what would he care if Jondy read it? And did she really care if she was going to get mad about it? Not really. She tore open the envelop and sat on a tree stump as she read the note over.
Hey Dick.
I had to blaze. Things are too crazy in Everett. I know no matter what I do I'm going to end up getting in the middle of your retarded stupid feud with Faith. You're both my friends and if I can't stop you from killing each other I don't want to watch it happen either.
Last time I left I found Jondy but she's not the only one I've lost over the years. I got a beat on Brin and I can't ignore it. Me and Zack couldn't save her from Manticore but I can try and save her now. It's what he would have wanted me to do. Big brother's all gone now and that means all they have is me. If I find Brin I'll bring her back to Everett but I probably won't stay. There's so many of us that are still out there and I can't stop until I finish what Zack started. Now that Manticore is dead we can finally be together like the family we were supposed to be.
Do me a favor. Keep an eye on Jondy. She doesn't have a big brother anymore either.
See ya.
Max
She didn't know she was crying until she saw a few drips of water on the paper. That was fucked. Jondy didn't cry, she never cried. She cried so seldom that she couldn't even remember the last time she had done it. She didn't even cry when she found out about Tinga. It had been too long, Jondy had gotten good at separating herself from the life she used to know. But this was different somehow. Now that Jondy was free to be herself and had reconnected with Max she couldn't believe that she would just leave her again. Leave her and tell Alec to take care of her.
She crumpled the letter and stuffed it into her jacket pocket before she got up. She was seething raging angry. She hadn't felt anything like this in a long time either. Emotional outbursts weren't really Jondy's thing. She had to blend in for so long and part of blending was not drawing attention to yourself. Part of blending was being a stone wall, you never chipped and you could never break. Jondy never broke but something inside of her snapped when she read that note.
There were several zombies stumbling through the woods towards her. They smelled enhanced blood but weren't bright enough to avoid danger. Because Jondy was dangerous. She didn't even have her usual machete on her today but she punched her fist straight through one of their heads and then pulled her hand back, shaking the muck and gore off of it. Another zombie came up from behind her and she snapped off a kick that was so hard it decapitated the monster right there. It had obviously been desiccating for awhile. Tinga had grabbed one zombie with her teeth and was shaking it back and forth like a kitten with a new toy.
She grabbed a tree, a good sized tree nearby pressing her body weight into it as she hit it with her fist. She hit and hit and hit until her knuckles were raw and bloodied before she pushed the tree over crushing all of the zombies in it's path. Tinga was sensitive to her mistress and knew something was wrong. The tiger growled in the background as Jondy stood her ground against several more zombies.
