Having known Isabel for years, she could tell when the woman wasn't telling the whole truth and right now she wasn't. The fact that she said 'fine' gave it away because usually 'fine' meant alot more than just that when it came to woman. Liz ought to know! She was one after all. She suspected that Isabel didn't want to say anything because of Max being in the room. Looking over to her husband, she noted her was sound as asleep. Looking back to her sister in law, she nodded her head to her short explanation of what happened. "He's not going to wake up, you know. He worked late last night and he's tired. He won't hear you if you want to tell me the whole story" She told her, giving her a knowing look to let her know that she knew she wasn't being told the whole story. Max was a sound sleeper when he was exhausted, which he definitely was when he came to see her. The chances of him waking up and actually hearing their conversation was pretty slim.
