She forced herself to focus just on Derek so that everything else would just fall away. She planned on spending most of her day outside walking around and around the entire fence for hours. Walking made her calm. She knew he was going to come find her and talk her out of wanting to go out in the woods. It was a classic Derek move really.
"You don't understand." She whispered out and looked around the kitchen. There weren't that many people left in there but she didn't want to freak anyone out after what had just happened. She nodded her head to the side and they went out a side door into the food storage area. She glanced nervously out the door one more time before closing it behind them.
"It's not the same as it was before, Derek. I have huge chunks of time that are just... gone. I don't know what I did or who I killed. There are people in here, what if I get out?" She was wringing her hands nervously and looking at him. She remembered the time he screwed that thing into her head and she still got loose. Did he really think a metal door was going to stop her? She wasn't sure if it would or not but she didn't want to find out.
"So I'll go south. There's nothing much out there but forest and wild animals from time to time." She'd done that before but only after being forced south by a gang of zombies. She remembered how to get there and she'd be clear of anyone or anything. "I can't stay here knowing that I could hurt anyone living here. I can't Derek."
