The look Dawn gave the woman at her words was incredulous at best. She stared for a long moment, then shook her head slowly, looking down again. "Of course it was upsetting. Ever since Sunnydale, when Willow brought her back before, Buffy hasn't really wanted to be in this life. This world." She curled up a little in the chair, then narrowed her eyes. "This is stupid. Talking about it, or her, won't fix anything."
Pushing a dark strand back from her face, she closed her eyes again and sighed quietly. "What's the point of even staying here, in Everett?" It may have seemed as though Dawn were asking Alana, but really she was asking herself, wanting some reason to stick around. She was honestly tempted to just pack up and leave, but it seemed as though she were again under lock and key.
