Angel met the others outside of the prison and they all walked together towards where Wesley had been able to confirm where she was keeping Dawn and Connor. He'd been patrolling around the area for a couple of days now and from a distance, he was sure he'd seen a tall structure that could be used for the ritual when it was time. The demons came at them from all sides as they fought and Angel only saw blinding white rage as he took care of each and every demon that came across his path. He had one goal in mind and that was to get his son back. No one was ever going to take him from him again.
The sword in his hand worked as if it was a mere extension of his arm. Slashing through bodies, cutting off limbs and heads. The tower wasn't far and he, Faith, Buffy, and Spike were all moving towards it as fast as they could through the midst of the demons protecting it and their god.
Looking up at the platform, he saw Connor and Dawn there along with Glory too. Why was he there? Angel shoved his sword through the last demon that separated him from the stairs to the tower and ran up them, taking two or three at a time. Buffy and Faith were ahead of him and Spike and he could hear the two slayers starting to battle Glory. The crackling sound and a shift in the air tugged on his senses and he saw the portal open. She'd used them to open the portal and Angel knew what was going to have to be done. No. They would close it another way. No one would have to die tonight.
He fought the demons with Spike and they were nearly at the top when he smelled blood. Connor's blood. No. Reaching the top, he saw Buffy already talking to Dawn and Connor desperately trying to get away from Faith. And that's when he saw what she was going to do.
"Buffy, no. Don't." He looked at her once and the split second they locked eyes, he remembered their conversation in his cabin. Both of them knew it could ultimately come to this. He'd promised her they would find another way when she confessed to him that she didn't want to die. She was so fucking brave, so strong and she didn't even realize it half of the time.
Grabbing at his son, Angel tried to help Faith keep him back, but Glory was battling Spike now and he stepped down to help him. His fists pounded into her face as hard as he could manage and now that she had started to weaken, they were able to keep her back from the others.
He dared to look at the others and saw Buffy running for the edge of the platform and Connor running after Dawn. He screamed out a battle cry full of rage and knew that he and Spike needed this to end. Now. Angel held onto her arm while Spike fought her.
"We need to push her inside before it closes!" He yelled out and they both knew what needed to be done. Getting her to the edge of the platform, Angel pulled her close to him and through yellow eyes growled out at her, "Rot in hell, bitch."
With one final shove between the two of them, Spike and Angel shoved Glory into the portal she'd opened for herself with Dawn and Connor's blood and he sank to his knees and waited until it was completely for good and then watched as dust sprinkled to the ground in the darkness.
