Being yanked from Heaven, yanked from your happiest, memories, from pure love and comfort and the knowledge that everything would always be alright for the rest of your existence was downright painful, and when Osiris had pulled her spirit across the void that first time, she had very little chance to find out the state of the world. Oh, she knew something of what had happened - angels were at war and pieces of Heaven were being carved up, and something about the apocalypse having happened, which meant, she knew, that her own sacrifice hadn't worked and Lucifer hadn't been taken down. But the smaller things, the details about those she cared about? She hadn't been given the opportunity to learn anything about them, even when she had been trying to kill Dean under another's orders. Her next bits of information didn't come until one day she'd looked up in her own little piece of Heaven and had seen Bobby Singer sitting there. He'd told her bits and pieces, but not all of it, not wanting to dwell on the painful memories, which Jo had understood...but still, she wondered.
This time, in the months - had it been that long? Maybe it had only been days - since she'd found herself once again Earthbound, she had learned of the virus that had been released, and of the, for lack of better phrasing, zombie apocalypse taking place. She still hadn't been able to discover what happened to her friends, and had been grateful to find the prison and learn that they were alive. Her joy had been short-lived, however, after hearing of Cas's capture, and that had led her to where she was now, leading her once-crush down dark hallways and past dangers. Movement from behind - the air stirring, really - had caused her to turn in time to see the demon approaching Dean, and she'd warned him, then watched as he fought and killed it, destroying the soul within. If she could shiver, she would have as she watched the light burn out, a part of her wondering if the knife could do the same thing to her. Demons were, after all, spirits as well, who could possess a body, and she could do the same - so it made sense, and convinced her to avoid that blade Dean carried at all costs.
Once they finally reached the room Cas was being held in, Jo flickered away for a moment to scout the surrounding halls, returning only seconds later in time to catch Dean's words to the angel. Her own lips quirked in a tiny half-smile, before she glided over to them and concentrated on Cas's chains until the wrist restrains clicked open.
"Uh, guys? I hate to ruin the moment or whatever, but you two should really be getting the hell out of here before anyone - or anything - else shows up."
