Who: Peter, Npc'd Lissa and Nathan (Narrative) What: fighting demons and protecting the prison Where: the prison When: now Warnings: demon violence
Peter had been splitting his time between keeping watch on Neal, Colleen and Shannon, and picking up Sentry shifts. When the call came out for volunteers to fight, he knew his place was at the prison. Most of the superpowered prison residents would be heading into town to fight. It was best if some people stayed back, protecting the perimeter of the prison, and the people inside who were not equipped to protect themselves. Peter wasn't a superpowered person. He was a federal agent who believed in fighting for the underdogs. He never thought humanity would be considered the underdog.
It was about fifteen minutes or so after the last of the fighters left to go into town that the prison drew demonic attacks. Not just the usual zombies, no, but actual demons who jumped the gates and attempted to take down those in the tower while others went for the inside of the prison. Peter shot one that got close him. It took several shots, through the head and heart before it slowed down enough for him to decapitate it. His arms hurt from the strength it took to sever the head, but his adrenaline was pumping through him.
He reminded himself that Piotr was in there with the kids. That Colleen was there with Neal and Shannon. That Rose and others were inside with the humans. They would fight what got through the doors. They'd protect their own. Peter caught the scream of one of his own and immediately climbed down his tower and went toward the sound.
It was Reid's kid, Nathan Harris. He looked young and terrified as the two demon dogs approached him. They were clawing and biting, and he could see the blood soaking the kid's clothes. Peter managed to take out one of them by hacking at it with a machete while Lissa Dragomir came out and got to Nathan. She worked her literal healing magic and repaired the wounds. His last words before she ushered him inside was not to tell Reid that he had gotten hurt. Peter wasn't going to promise that, but he had another demon dog to kill and a tower to get back to. When things settled down, he'd let Reid know to go after the kid.
Because Peter was an optimist; things would settle down and there would be time to check on loved ones once it did.
