Who: Chuck and Nate What: Discussing what they've been putting off Where: The prison Warnings: Shouldn't be but will update if necessary.
Chuck had held fast to his promise to Nathaniel. They had agreed that they wouldn't speak of what happened at Katherine's whorehouse during the snow storm until after the wedding. The girls had seemed to fall into the same uneasy truce for the time being even if Serena was being rather difficult about it. Everything had to be put on hold for Serena and Nathaniel's happy day and Chuck was happy to oblige his best friend and his stepsister in their nuptials. He had also been happy to indulge Nate with lots of booze, drugs and strippers at his bachelor party. The girls had their fun so why shouldn't the boys?
Now fun was over. Katherine had given Chuck a few weeks off especially after he had scored that darling little blonde witch for her. That had earned him some serious bonus points and Katherine seemed to understand when he said he needed a little time to get his affairs in order at the prison before he and Blair would be moving into the luxury cabin on her property that was fully guarded by vampires and Zoey. He still had full plans to move out of the prison. It wasn't suited to him or Blair and while he could phone his work in that kitchen as "cook" Blair was having a harder time playing nice with the housekeeping staff. Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass simply weren't cut out for prison life. He dared anyone to argue with what was simply true.
The wedding was over and Serena and Nate had spent their honeymoon at The Inn in town that he kept hearing about. At some point Chuck intended to visit the Ewings over there but for now he had other business to attend to. He had hoped that Serena and Nate would come with him and Blair when they decided to move but Chuck was beginning to understand that it wouldn't be possible. Serena and Nate regarded the prison as home and had adapted to the lifestyle here far easier than he and Blair were able to. The four of them, though they had been best friends for their entire lives were very different. Serena and Nate were cut from a different cloth than Chuck and Blair were.
He waited patiently until Nate had finished sentry duty for the night. The two men shared a room which was convenient. Chuck already had a joint rolled and lit it when Nathaniel plopped down on his bunk and started unlacing his boots. Once he was finished Chuck handed him the joint, hoping that the marijuana would at least put them both at ease. This wasn't going to be an easy conversation. They passed it back and forth a few times before Chuck finally spoke.
"We need to talk about Katherine," he finally said. "I had no idea that you had a past with her."
