The mention of the prison being tense didn't quite surprise him; after all, everybody seemed to be nowadays. He couldn't imagine dealing with that stress in the middle of living with a large group of people, though. Just the thought of it made him feel almost claustrophobic, and he found himself admiring Natasha's work in the prison once more.
While she had been speaking, Tony's attention had turned back to the road but the admission of the sense of loss at her own wedding made him glance over at her just for a moment. It was an admission that he hadn't really expected to hear.
"There's nothing wrong with that, is there?" he asked as he gave her another quick glance before turning back to the road. "I mean. You know, different skill sets and all that. Besides," Tony added with a small smile, "I can bet you they're having fun helping you plan things out."
Which was true. Tony knew first hand that Pepper had been excited to help out in figuring out details about the wedding and organizing what she could.
"Sometimes I'm still a little surprised by it, too," he admitted before quickly adding, "but mainly because... I don't know. Considering what we do, this whole...trying to save the world thing, it sounds so normal compared to everything else, you know? It isn't a bad thing, though. I mean, if you both care about each other, and want to make that commitment to each other, then it's pretty damn great. You both deserve to be happy."
