Gunn/Wes
Wes didn't think about the future too much. Even if he was on this planet for the rest of eternity, he didn't really have a future, when you thought on it. There wasn't going to be another chance for him. He wasn't even sure if he deserved it. Heroes got second chances, but he wasn't a hero. At best, he was just another soldier in the fight.
This bothered him less than one might think, though. Maybe he had simply resigned himself to it a long time ago. It helped that he was perfectly happy helping others out. Now if he could simply get Faith out of her head and back at the prison where she belonged, things would be a lot better. She was letting this 'Senior Partner' deal get to her far more than she should. Then again, if he had been told that his father was one of them, then he supposed he might act wild as well.
"Not much of a crier, anymore," Wesley said as he gave Gunn a nod in greeting. "I used to get terrible allergies every time something remotely emotional happened, though," he joked. At least he had a sense of humor about it. He wasn't even terribly sure if he could cry in this state. He supposed that anything was possible, though.
