Melissa nodded at Cassie but they didn't really need words to communicate. Not when they were locked in magic together like this. Melissa wasn't as strong or as dark as Cassie but if Cassie really thought that Melissa had never killed, she was sorely mistaken. There was a whole year that Melissa had been on her own without any circle members, before Adam had found her in the projects.
Dawn had been a traveling companion for awhile but even Dawn couldn't stomach the way Melissa used her magic to protect herself. She had no problem killing others for what she needed or if she was being threatened or in trouble. Melissa's morals had never exactly been iron clad. She was Faye Chamberlain's best friend after all. She was no Diana, or the Diana of old. Just because in comparison to her friends she seemed to be the current moral compass didn't mean that she was moral. It just meant that she wasn't as dark as they were which wasn't saying much at all.
But killing a giant mutant zombie? That didn't phase Melissa one bit. With her hand still joined with Cassie's the two girls focused as The Tank came into sight. The wind picked up around them as magic flowed freely between them and out into the world. Melissa felt the exact moment and her and Cassie both yelled FALL at the same time. The Tank staggered for a moment and Melissa thought it was going to go down but instead it picked up a tree and tossed it at them.
