"The fuck?" Ellis murmured, squinting as the Tank dropped dead off of the roof in the most unsatisfying fashion. No more than a second after he fired the first round, Ellis had jumped off of his truck, prepared to run, shoot, and repeat. He had a fucking grenade launcher, and two more rounds. Did he seriously just run up and one hit the mother fucker and kill it? Ellis couldn't help but sound both equal parts baffled, and childishly disappointed when he blurted out 'That it?' He was worried as Hell about Zoey, but when he showed up and realized that she was alive and well enough, he realized that he was itching for a good fight, and he had the adrenaline rush to prove it. The zombies up north were slower, and everything seemed like it was working out just way too easy, right down to a God damn tank.
Ellis shook his head, but once he saw Zoey rounding the corner of the house, he tossed the grenade launcher carelessly back into the bed of his truck before jogging to meet his dream girl halfway. He was so preoccupied with the tank, he somehow managed to forget to be nervous when talking to Zoey. "Hey! You alright?!" He came to a well timed stop, having every intention of letting there be space between him and Zoey, but Zoey had something completely different in mind. He didn't expect her to throw her arms around him-OH GOD SHE WAS ACTUALLY TOUCHING HIM. When her lips met Ellis, his brain went haywire all together, but there was enough light on upstairs for Ellis to have the sense to wrap an arm around her waist and kiss her back.
When they finally broke off the kiss, Ellis stared down at Zoey, cheeks red and grinning ear to ear. He cleared his throat, and adjusted his cap. "Well, I-.. uh.. sorry.. I uh, took so long.. um...."
Oh shit. He was doing it again.
Quick, dumbass!! Do something!!
Ellis shook his head quickly, this time at himself before he pulled Zoey in closer and kissed her with everything he had. It seemed to work well enough the first time.
