meredith fell is a cheater with good intentions. (icheat) wrote in zombieslogs,
An offered arm? It wasn't an unwelcomed bit of charity and kindness. Meredith stood too and slipped a hand through the crook; the slender fingers settled on the hard muscle on his forearm with strange ease. For someone who knew exactly what she was getting into, she was hardly coming off as scared or frightened. Instead, she was oddly calm, following him out of the bar and out into one of the dimly lit hallways where humans and vampires engaged in activities Meredith refused to contemplate more on except for what she hoped was casual observation. The entire space smelled like smoke and, well-known to Meredith, blood. She was sure more than a few stomachs churned, meals lost, and head's turned at the smells and displays, but Meredith looked on blankly. Her only show of emotion came when she noticed a young woman fighting back in the arms of a vampire. Though she knew it would do little, she reached for her gun, but tonight, Meredith was unarmed. She hadn't yet retrieved it from storage in the prison. The doctor made herself look away, but that hardly closed off the cries from her ears or took away her guilt.
She stepped inside the apartment, surprised, but not so much at the sight of the rather fashionable state. He was a powerful vampire and she doubted such a status would make him want to appear as anything less than what he was. He was high class and everyone and anyone would know about it. Meredith remained standing, positioned literally equal distance from his chair and the doorway. Her brown eyes watched him, rather warily from her place, but she made no move to run to the door, but she didn't exactly step closer to the vampire either. Getting your blood sucked was not something Meredith liked to think about and no, she definitely didn't want to, but with the threat of war and Eric's blood doing less harm than other vampires, she knew she had to take advantage of this opportunity even if it made her more than a bit uncomfortable. The doctor laughed, rather harshly, at his words. Safe? It was all relative, wasn't it? The addition of his fangs, ivory and sharp behind his lips, only made the moment more comidic and amusing. "Safe. I don't think I would ever categorize what you are as safe or what we are about to do", she replied with a smile still playing on her lips.
Meredith slipped her hand into her purse and withdrew a bagged siringe from inside. It wasn’t odd to see her carrying one, especially with so many vampires around and the chance of getting blood was always a possibility. She approached him more confidently than she felt and knelt beside the chair. Because he was so pale, she easily picked out a greenish blue vein against the translucent skin. She wrapped a tie around the elbow and glanced up at him, but in all his years, she highly doubted such a small thing like a needle frightened him. Carefully, the doctor stuck the needle into the skin and the red liquid started filling the tube.
