meredith fell is a cheater with good intentions. (icheat) wrote in zombieslogs,
And what a lovely choice it was. Her brown eyes skimmed the remainder of the club's occupants, but he was right. Most of them, if not all, appeared to be unsavory and Meredith knew he was being kind with such a description. Numerous pale faces, some frighteningly human and others definitely vampire, looked back and there was more than a bit of hunger and desperation in those bottomless eyes. For anyone with a half a brain, it would have been easy: Eric. The vampire was charming, maybe too much, and his presence had kept other vampires from making a meal out of her simply because of what she wanted to do with their blood or because she was human. Still, the charming aspect of him, his curious curiosity with her was a bit alarming and while Meredith did have friends that were vampires, they never asked her for her blood in return for theirs.
Slowly, she shifted her gaze to his handsome, stoic face once more. Did she trust him? He did keep all these other evil creatures at bay, but only because he was the most dangerous one of them all. Those hypnotic teal eye and wit? It was captivating and hard to refuse. The anti-hero? He surly was. "More than any of these miscreants? Yes. Maybe. A bit", she finished with a wane smile. "And the choice is really not a choice at all, is it? It's favor the devil over the demons, is it not? Yes. You've kept me safe so far, but in favor of yourself." Meredith wasn't stupid, but she figured that this vampire, as old as he was, had to know that she was far from some stupid vampire follower, out for a good time with fangs that could take her as quickly as he could kill her. "But more so than them?" Her eyes shifted to the blank stares and hungry gazes again before turning back to himself. "I do. But you understand, you don't have much competition, then, do you?"
Did she or didn't she? She went for her drink, but the glass was sadly empty and there was no other distraction, no other way to draw much needed time to make an informed decision, but didn't she already have all the facts? Yet, the doctor was still considering it, wasn't she? Despite all she knew and all she had experienced, she wanted to know. Yes, curiosity killed the cat and it would certainly be the end of her as well, but somehow, she felt it would a prolonged end or maybe, none at all. Reaching in her purse, she pulled out a few dollars for her drinks, tossing them on the bar and turned, meeting his gaze straight on. "I'm ready when you are."
