meredith fell is a cheater with good intentions. (icheat) wrote in zombieslogs,
The sudden feeling of a presence beside her and brief movement out of the corner of her eye pulled Meredith from her depressing dwellings of the past. Glancing over briefly, the doctor found herself seated beside a rather handsome, pale man. He had blond hair and a small bit of stubble lingering on his chin, but it was his eyes, intense teal in color, that captured Meredith's attention and made it difficult for her to keep her gaze socially acceptable for strangers, especially at a bar. However, perhaps it was just practice with vampires, but she managed to turn away and focus on her drink. The bartender made another sweep and Meredith ordered a scotch, something that again reminded her of Alaric, and pushed the empty one away with a faint appreciative smile.
Maybe it was just because, again, she'd spend a lot of time around vampires or maybe it was the more obvious reason of this place being a vampire bar, but Meredith couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. It shouldn't have surprised her; she was human in a place with things that considered her food. She was a bit shocked that he was the first of his kind to take a seat beside her. Meredith had been expecting a more rapid approach seeing the amount of vampires in Everett. It didn't matter. Meredith looked upon all of them with a steady heart beat and calmness very different from the other humans congegating around the bar. Most of them were throwing themselves at whatever had fangs, but what got her most was the emptiness in their eyes, the dullness in their skin, and it was frightening. She'd been around more corpses, people close to death, that had more life left in their bodies than those people did.
The vampire beside her spoke up and Meredith eagerly took the chance to turn away from another vampire eyeing her cooling from his place along the wall. He was hungry and Meredith knew he'd probably drain her dry and not even hesitate doing so. Her gaze shifted to his face and unlike most of her kind, she kept his gaze despite how hypnotizing and dangerous it definitely was. A amused smile pulled at Meredith's lips and she nodded her head, a bit of brown hair falling over her shoulders. "You'd be right in that assumption. I have no desire for either of those things. I am, however, always out for more vampires to give their blood to the hospital at the prison to save lives."
