Vera lifted her head to see Clint Barton sitting near her. He was nice she thought although she had hardly ever interacted with him at the prison. She did wash his socks though so that sort of bonded them together. She looked down at the drawing he had asked about. It was actually quite the ghoulish drawing. The earth had split open and out came demonic flames with a devil princess floating in the middle. She was made of fire too. Glory.
The picture was gruesome too, with dead bodies strewn about the ground around Glory and her hell flames. A girl who looked a bit too disturbingly like Jessica and others with no faces at all. The macabre picture would have surely shaken Julia to her core which was why she was glad that Julia hadn't caught her with it.
She looked around to make sure nobody else was watching and slid the piece of paper down to Clint so that he could take a look at it. She watched his face closely for a reaction. Vera was perfectly patient and always had been. She was quiet and she watched and that was what she did. She was the great observer. But Clint had a really good poker face, he was harder to read than most, she thought.
She waited quietly for him to assess the situation. He was sitting across from a fourteen year old girl mute who was terrified of the monster that had almost killed her and killed Jessica in her place. He probably hadn't meant to do that when he sat down, Vera thought. But it was just the luck of the draw.
