"I felt free." She had not yet heard it put so simply and yet so accurately. Caroline had told her she was devoid of a personality and Elena thought maybe she was right. Elena felt free without her humanity. She felt like she could finally breathe and relax and not feel the world crashing down around her constantly.
She shook her head stubbornly. "I don't miss it." It was a little bit of a lie. She did miss it sometimes, that carefree feeling of being weightless. It felt like nothing mattered and truly nothing did in those few weeks. She had to turn it back on, people counted on her. She didn't have the option of leaving it off.
"The vampire's name is Angel. He's from a different line of vampires but he essentially has his humanity back now too. He feels awful for what he did to me." Which was primarily the reason that Damon had not already ripped his head off. Elena still thought it might be a possibly later on.
"You didn't really come to talk about me being a vampire, did you?"
