"So he still roams Everett then?" Elijah asked as they started walking again. He could feel eyes on them and most certainly it were those that were in the tower with their weaponry. The thought of Elena Gilbert on a murder spree was rather terrifying, not for Elijah, but for Elena now, having to think about what she had done. There was no doubt in his mind that she harped on herself over the trials of her time with her humanity turned off.
"It was bound to happen sooner or later, I suppose. Especially for a girl like you. Having to feel everything all at once and trying to determine what those feelings are can be a bit too much, even if they are just helpless people that you will no doubt never see again regardless. I would think in a world like this you gave them a quick death as opposed to what was waiting for them by walkers."
His eyes were on her as they rounded a corner. "Do you miss it? You said you had fun when indifference took over. You didn't care whether a person lived or died, but you found excitement in their death, or the fact that you no longer cared felt as though a weight was lifted, you felt freer, less tied down to what is right and wrong?"
