Sookie barely heard a word that was said to her. The second she heard noise, she let out an involuntary shriek. She whirled around in the direction the voice came from, ready to fairy blast the every loving at something if need be. She reacted so fast, she didn't even have a chance to notice how familiar that voice used to be. Sookie jerked in surprise at the sight of her best friend. Well.. former best friend, but Sookie's heart clenched painfully in her chest all the same. Eric had told Sookie that Tara was alive...ish, and well, but it was one thing to hear it, and another to see it. The last time she saw Tara, she told her she would never forgive her. It was worse than her parting words with Jessica. If anything had happened to Tara, friends or not, Sookie wouldn't be okay. Not by a long shot.
"Tara?!" She blurted out, taking a step towards the vampire without even thinking. It took an extra second or two for the other woman's words to sink in, and Sookie was suddenly on the defense, and she barely knew why. It's just how they were when one of them was pissed. It's how things always were. They'd shout, cuss each other out, slam things around, not see each other for a couple days, and then they'd make up. It had been a year, but as she realized when she ran into Eric for the first time in a long time, some things never change. That, she didn't doubt for a second that Tara was still pissed. If she wasn't, she would have known by now. "What am I doing out here? I was looking for you! I knew you were at Fangtasia, blowing me off, so I-I just wanted to see you!! What the fuck are you doing out here, anyway?!" Sookie reeled back a little bit, pressing a hand just above her heart, trying to remind herself to breathe in between the bitching, and reminding herself that like Eric, she couldn't just run up and hug Tara, as much as she wanted to. It's not like she just did anything to make things between them better.
