Shannon losing her radio or having a bad signal didn't bring Dimitri any comfort on the situation. They'd come out to try and find those that had been stranded and so far they'd come up with nothing at all. They were now the ones that were stranded instead. "It's nearly impossible to see out there. There's no guarantee she found shelter or that she was ever able to locate Bonnie. Her distress call sounded like something wasn't right." Dimitri knew what a harsh winters could do to someone not used to them.
Taking off his most outer layers, Dimitri still stood watch by the window and silently tried to will the snow to stop. It was too thick to see anything at all and he knew going back out now was only asking for him and Rose to be as stranded as the others. He replayed Shannon's sos call again in his mind and shook his head, frustrated with himself that they were unable to find either of the girls.
He paced a few steps but nodded to the fireplace. "Yes, the fireplace is good. Is there enough kindling for it to last?"
Dimitri tugged off his hat and and shook the rest of the snow off of it and out of his hair. As much as he missed his home in Baia, this was part of the life he hadn't missed. Montana has its storms, but they'd never witnessed anything quite this bad during the time he spent there. The storm wasn't letting up and by the looks of things it didn't seem to have an end in sight.
"Maybe there's something here we can find to eat. We don't know how long we'll be here or if we'll end up being able to leave and come back once we're able to search again." Needing to be doing something, he started to walk around the room in search of something resembling food. The cabin looked picked over, but there was a small chance he'd find something hidden by someone that left it to come back to.
