Dimitri didn't argue at all when Rose said she was going to go with him. She was better company than anyone else he could have found to be his buddy to go after Shannon and Bonnie. The SOS call had disturbed him and in the midst of all of the snow, he knew that they needed to find her before she got completely lost or got into a situation she couldn't get out of. Once he was dressed in warm clothes, they signed out at the gate and ventured out into the snow.
He'd seen large snows during his youth growing up in Siberia. Montana had a few bad snow storms while he was at the school too. They weren't strangers to harsh winters or snow storms.
They set out into the storm and Dimitri kept the radio tight in his hand, listening for any distress call from Shannon that he could hear. He checked in occasionally with those back at the prison and tried to use it to locate Shannon as well, but he wasn't having any luck and his frustration and worry were beginning to grow. He refused to accept that they could lose someone else so quickly.
Cold and wet, Dimitri reluctantly let Rose lead him into the cabin. He knew they both needed to rest or else they would be the ones needing the rescue soon. Once they made sure the cabin was free of zombies, he stayed stationed by the window, radio still in hand.
"She's not answering the radio." She could have lost the radio but he worried that something or someone had caused her to lose it. No one had heard from Bonnie either.
"The snow has to stop sometime. We can head back out then." Because Rose was right. They weren't going to find anyone in the middle of the storm as it was right then.
