Who: Jondy and Laura What: caught in the storm When: Sunday Where: Warnings Warnings: Doubtful
Laura hadn't thought much of the snow when she set out to do a sweep for food and supplies. Ever since finding that one man close to death in the elements, she'd increased the frequency that that she swept the area searching for survivors along with supplies. She knew to dress warmly. Yes, her body could heal at a rapid pace. Much faster than anyone she had met beyond Logan, but the cold was cold. One shouldn't go out without being prepared.
Jeans, work boots, two shirts, a hoodie and a jacket seemed sufficient to her. She had her rifle, some back up ammo, two canteens of water and of course her metal claws. Far easier than worrying with knives. She could use a canteen of water to clean them if she needed to clean them off. She wondered if she should go by the prison to check on Emily, but decided against it. If she wanted out, she would contact Laura and Logan. No, it was best not to tempt her out in a storm.
This snow fall was definitely turning into a storm. That much was clear by the time she made it near the lake to hunt for food. It was coming down in sheets now, and that made her wonder why. It was unseasonably cold for a time when Spring was supposed to be here. Maybe Mother Nature, as her mother had referred to the weather once, had given up on this place too.
As she passed a place, she sniffed the air and caught the scent of a wild animal. Quickly, she moved through the snow, seeing nothing but a vision of white until she caught sight of the beautiful cat. "Hello, you are a far way from home," she murmured, approaching it slowly. Did it have a keeper? If so where was it? The snow was only coming down faster, and Laura didn't want to leave the cat or anyone else behind in it.
