When Charlie had told Tony (Mr. Stark in her head, always and forever) that he was her personal tech god, she hadn't been kidding. During the years she'd worked crappy IT jobs and for assholes like Dick Roman (and she didn't even want to think about that creep right now), she had followed media reports on Tony Stark. Sure, the media generally painted him as an idiot and a playboy who squandered his money, but Charlie was well adept at reading between the lines. She knew quite well just how much of a bonafide genius he really was, and had finally gotten up the courage (and, she hoped, the skills) to apply to Stark Industries a week before the zombie apocalypse had begun. Never in her wildest Scarlett Johansson fantasies did she think she'd actually someday be working directly hand in hand with The Man himself. Really, Tony Stark was probably the one man she'd consider going hetero for.
After saying her goodbyes to Willow (whom she really didn't want to leave but, hey, this was TONY STARK asking for her help), Charlie had spent a full five minutes in a bathroom, whispering a mantra to herself to just "be cool". And she'd succeeded, she thought, for the first day so far, mainly by burying her attention in circuits and computers and coding, absolutely thrilled to be using his equipment, even if it was to get a naval base up and running tech-wise. At the moment, she had her head buried in a circuit board on her lap, and was soldering two circuits together, barely grunting when Tony said something about checking out the lights. When his call came a few minutes later, she'd sighed, then set the board aside before moving to her feet. Cringing as her joints protested after having sat in one position for so long, she paused to take a long stretch, then walked out to where the guys were, absently rubbing the back of her neck.
"What's going...oh." Her question turned into a faint sound of acknowledgement as she spotted the world outside past Clint's head at the window. "Um. Did we get dropped into a bad M. Night Shyamalan plot twist or something?"
